Problem Statement #

A Team called Total Operational Performance[TOP] is formed to reduce the minor defects called snags occurring in the Apache Helicopter Fuselage. In the analysis they found out that the data collected in the traditional Google sheets tracker doesn't have enough data and the data consist of many errors.

Only if the data collected is good we can plan to remove the minor defects.

Solution #

I developed a web application where people can easily enter the snag data. All the input data are validated and this removed all data-cleaning processes.

further data analysis parts are also automated which used to consume 12 man hours to consolidate data.

Solution Implementation #

Since TBAL is a defense company, We need to meet all Defence IT Security standards. So, instead of developing everything on our own We can utilize Google API and Google Developer environments that already met the standards.

Therefore, I opted for the Google App script Environment

Google provides App script APIs to integrate Gmail, Sheets, Forms, database, and other Google products. So, You might realize that we can develop an end-to-end solution using an App script.

So, I developed a web application in the Google App Script environment which uses Google sheets as a Database. All App script projects come with Google Authentication. It is very much useful since TBAL is using G-Suit.

Backend and Front end technologies used #

The backend is developed using Javascript and Google App script APIs. The front end is developed using vue.js and the Buefy library.
